Sugar Glider Sugar Bear Noises 3

Like most pets, healthy sugar glider sugar bears make as much noise; sick, malnourished, stressed, lonely or otherwise abused sugar glider sugar bears generally don’t make as much noise. The primary sounds of sugar glider sugar bears are chattering, barking, chirping and hissing.

When a sugar glider sugar bear makes a chattering or crabbing sound, it indicates that your pet is intimidated and in fear, and is acting in self defense. This is generally done by standing up on its hind legs and nipping at the air, which can seem intimidating to the pet owner and is the reason why they have earned the name of sugar ‘bear’ is due to their looks in such phases. This kind of sound is common during the bonding phase but after that, you will seldom hear this unless your pet feels really threatened. This is used to dominate over you, so don’t feel subdued by this.

Sugar glider sugar bears bark just like Chihuahuas and this can mean lots of things. Barking can indicate that your pet is extremely bored or lonely or that it is highly excited while playing with you or that there is an intruder in the house. Similar to dogs, sugar glider sugar bears don’t bark without any reason. If your pet is barking at night, it might be feeling lonely or scared, so you should just pick it up and play with it for a while and the barking should stop. Barking can also be stopped by having a small night light on near the cage, which works especially well with multiple sugar glider sugar bears.

The most adorable and soothing sound your pet will make is generally chirping, which is a soft purr, which is made to show affection and love to you. Sneezing is a very common sound you will hear from your pet, which is mostly heard when they spit on their hands to clean and groom themselves. However, excessive sneezing should be referred to a Vet because it can indicate a medical condition like an infection.
