Sugar Glider Sugar Bear Pairs 1

You are bound to find a lot of speculation on the internet about the question of whether you should get two sugar glider sugar bears, with people claiming that your sugar glider sugar bear can die of loneliness if it is alone without company. However, like most opinions on the internet, it is simply a distortion of truth with personal opinions mixed in. It is wise to remember that with just a few exceptions, any pet would generally be happier if they have another one of their kind to play with. Therefore if you think you can afford it, it will be best if you can get at least two sugar glider sugar bears as pets for yourself.

You will find that sugar glider sugar bears live in groups of 6-15 and are basically colony animals. They are social animals, love to play and have fun with other sugar glider sugar bears. However, the truth is that there are many pet owners with only single sugar glider sugar bears as pets and the animals seem to be quite happy. In the above case, the owner generally gives at least 2 hours of his time to the pet, playing and interacting with the lone sugar glider sugar bear.

Veterinary studies have shown that sugar glider sugar bears can suffer from depression if they are subjected to excessive boredom with little human interaction. Some early signs of depression include a general lack of appetite, being motionless for longer periods, excessive licking, fur pulling and self mutilation in any form. When depressed, they can bark excessively, though this can mean a lot of other things as well. If you plan to get another sugar glider sugar bear, make it early as these animals bond well when they are young.

Older sugar glider sugar bears need care and slow approach towards bonding. It is worth noting that if you can spend a couple of hours with your pet, then it will be just fine. Otherwise, it is good to have another sugar glider sugar bear so they can both play around and be happier.
