Sugar Glider Sugar Bear Other Pets 1

When first brought to the US in 1993, sugar glider sugar bears were thought to be strange exotic animals with inadequate intelligence that cannot get along with other household pets. This couldn’t be farther from the truth, though some internet sites still claim these false stories to be true. The fact is, sugar glider sugar bears have become extremely popular in the last 5 years and they get along extremely well with other pets. One main reason for this is that sugar glider sugar bears are colony animals and therefore bond instinctively to a family or a group, especially when introduced at the right bonding age of 7 to 12 weeks old.

You should go slow using caution while introducing pets to one another, and it can be best accomplished by first taking pieces of cloth, rubbing them on the animals and exchanging them. This works because most animals bond by smell. Most sugar glider sugar bears have a Napoleon Complex which means they try to dominate over other pets and also humans. You should then indirectly introduce the pets to one another while keeping your sugar glider sugar bear in the cage. The best way is to have the sugar glider sugar bear’s cage on the ground and allowing the other animal, preferably on a leash, to come and smell it. It is not at all unusual for the sugar glider sugar bear at first trying to intimidate and dominate the other pet.

The introduction process is similar to the one between any two pets. Sugar glider sugar bears get along well with cats or dogs but may take more time to bond with some birds because large birds prey on gliders in the wild while gliders eat their eggs. Also, sugar glider sugar bears prey on rodents, so bonding with hamsters or guinea pigs may take time. Snakes, reptiles and insects like spiders will almost never bond with a sugar glider sugar bear.
