Sugar Glider Sugar Bear Nutrition 2

Most health related problems in sugar glider sugar bears are due to malnutrition and improper diet, which is largely due to the promotion of the so called homemade concoctions like HPW, BML, Leadbeater’s and a wide variety of hybrids all over the internet. The problem is, these may look fine on paper but the ingredients are difficult to obtain and costly, and the procedures are extremely complicated and time consuming for an average person.

Today, we know a lot about the dietary requirements of sugar glider sugar bears, and this information is utilized in the making of highly effective commercially available sugar glider sugar bear pellets that are not only extremely nutritious but also cheap and healthy. The two best pellet foods are found to be “Glide-R-Chow™” by Vet’s Pride and “NutriMax™” by Pocket Pets organization and they cost about $5 a month per sugar glider sugar bear. This is the core nutritional requirement that forms 75% of a sugar glider sugar bear’s needs. The remaining 25% should be through fresh fruits and vegetables, which comes to about 1/8th of a slice of apple or equivalent. Sugar glider sugar bears love sweet foods like fruits, yogurts and insects, but an excess of these can cause a variety of problems.

There should also be a calcium based multivitamin to avoid some serious health problems. This is required because sugar glider sugar bears need a tight ratio of calcium, phosphorous and Vitamin D3. It is best to opt for a multivitamin that complements the pellet food that you are using, and it is important that it is made specially for sugar glider sugar bears.

For the feeding, you should place about 2 ounces of pellet food in their cage at all times and remove the crumbs each day. At night, you should put fresh fruits and vegetables but without slicing them into small pieces. Every other night, you should sprinkle the multivitamin. A small plastic box at least 4 inches high turned upside down with a hole at each end forms an excellent dining room, which is a very important equipment to avoid food wastage when your pet plays around in the cage.
