Sugar Glider Sugar Bear Cages 2

The cage for your sugar glider sugar bear largely depends on its age and how much space you have. A special wire mesh cage should be used especially for the younger joeys so that they can grasp the bars horizontally or vertically, as they can otherwise hurt their tender feet along long bars like in a bird cage. In the bonding phase when your sugar glider sugar bear is 8-12 weeks, you should use smaller starter cages so that they can play and jump around without fearing a fall, which is important because if they are unable to firmly grasp on to something, then they become significantly inactive. These cages help a lot in you bonding with your sugar glider sugar bear. In addition, it also enables you to easily pick it up without having to chase it around and stressing it out, which can be done even by small kids.

Once your sugar glider sugar bear grows up, you should get larger aviary style bird cage for your pet. At most half an inch of bar spacing is required to ensure your pet doesn’t escape, and there should be a safety latch on each door. Never try to save money by compromising on the quality of the cage, since a poor quality cage will cause the coating to flake off and your sugar glider sugar bear can die of zinc poisoning from the bare bars.

A good quality cage like Jung-L-Gym™ cage from Pocket Pets comes with quality epoxy coating and can last the entire life of your sugar glider sugar bear. The optimal temperature for a sugar glider sugar bear is between 75-80 degrees which is less than a normal room temperature. Therefore you should use a heat rock to ensure your pet can stay warm. These are completely safe to use. To avoid extreme temperature conditions, don’t put the cage of your sugar glider sugar bear next to a window. Avoid the kitchen since the chemicals can be very harmful to your pet.

Sugar glider sugar bears can make noise with the toys so you can remove toys such as bells at night. Also, a cheap exercise wheel makes a lot of noise, so buy a good quality one.
