Sugar Glider Sugar Bear Dangerous Foods 4

Sugar glider sugar bears, just like our own children, will eat just about anything that they can lay their hands on. They are omnivorous and especially fond of anything sweet. This means you should be careful what you feed them. Never feed them, even accidentally, any chocolate. This applies for most pets, but is all the more important for sugar glider sugar bears as they are so small in size that even a small piece can fatally harm them. Then, you should also make sure that your sugar glider sugar bear doesn’t take in any diary products, simply because most sugar glider sugar bears are lactose intolerant. This means they cannot digest foods such as ice creams and cheese. The only exception is flavored yogurt when given in small quantities.

You should clean the fruits thoroughly before feeding them, and is always better if you can avoid high risk foods such as blackberries, raspberries, broccoli and cauliflower that are so hard to clean thoroughly. Even though your sugar glider sugar bear will love to eat foods such as nuts and seeds, you should keep these foods at a bare minimum only. This is because they have low nutritional value with high fat content. Keep these type of foods for an occasional treat to your pet.

Whether to feed your sugar glider sugar bears grapes and raisins is a highly debatable topic, and you should use your own judgment. However, there is no real research or proven documentation to show that they can harm your pet, and many pet owners do feed their sugar glider sugar bears these once in a while without any problems as such. Just be cautious if you want to feed your sugar glider sugar bear these foods. Since sugar glider sugar bears are so small in size, you should strictly avoid feeding them more, as what appears a little more to you can mean a lot excess for these little animals.
